【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 충주시는 28일 서충주신도시 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위한 ‘서충주신도시 정주여건 개선 연구용역’ 최종보고회를 개최했다.
이날 시청 3층 중회의실에서 열린 보고회에는 김진석 충주시장 권한대행과 서충주 지역구 시의원, 관계 공무원, 용역사 등 30여 명이 참석해 연구용역 최종 결과를 보고받고 질의응답을 진행했다.
이번 보고회는 지난해 포스코이앤씨로부터 매입한 중앙탑면 용전리 일원 유휴부지 8만7481㎡를 주민 친화적 공간으로 활용하기 위한 구체적인 방안을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.
연구용역은 젊은 층 비중이 높은 서충주신도시의 인구 특성을 고려해 문화·복지·교육·보육·체육 등 생활 인프라 수요를 분석하고, 주민 체감형 복합생활공간 조성 방안을 제시하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
보고회에서는 서충주신도시 개발현황 및 대상지 활용 여건 분석, 유사사례 검토, 도입 시설안, 토지이용 및 공간배치 구상 등 주민 중심 개발 방향이 제시됐다.
도입 시설(안)에는 어린이 실내 놀이터, 충북도립 대표도서관, 다목적 체육시설, 전 세대 이용이 가능한 공원 등이 포함됐다.
