Chungju City Significantly Enhances Content for '26 Children's Day Event, Including AI and Career Experiences
Chungju City will host the "2026 Children's Day Event" at Tangeum Park on May 5th under the theme "Dream Big, Laughter Bigger" to celebrate the 104th Children's Day. This year's festival is characterized by moving beyond a simple viewing-centered event to become an "experience and participatory family festival" where children can physically feel and actively engage.
In particular, Chungju City has significantly expanded AI and career experience programs compared to the previous year for children, the future generation. Throughout the venue, career exploration corners reflecting the changing times—such as AI coding robot experiences, a mobile AI/SW future school, and tire mechanic experiences—are set up to help children naturally envision their future. Furthermore, dynamic physical activity content that allows children to fully release their energy, such as tree climbing, laser survival, and air sports, has been greatly reinforced to enhance immersion.
There is also an abundance of educational and cultural content where families can create lasting memories together. The event is set to offer both enjoyment and educational value by running a variety of programs. These include sentimental activities such as making mood lights and keyrings, drawing caricatures, and taking "Life 4-cut" photos, as well as public safety programs like CPR training, disaster and traffic safety experiences, and fingerprint pre-registration.
Performances across diverse genres, including Nanta drumming, Taekwondo dance, ballet, and traditional Korean musical drama, will take place on the stage to liven up the festive atmosphere. In particular, a dance performance featuring Transformers characters is prepared as the highlight of the event, generating considerable anticipation. For the convenience of visitors, ample food options will be provided, including food trucks, a dedicated children's restaurant, and a marketplace linked to traditional markets.
The Children's Day Event Organizing Committee stated that they have prepared an experience-oriented event to allow children to run and play to their hearts' content while spending precious time with their families. Meanwhile, if weather conditions are poor, such as rain, on the day of the event, the schedule will be postponed to May 9.
