Anyang City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center Operates Family Media Education
Expanding Cooperation for Supporting At-Risk Youth… Strengthening Community Linkages
The Anyang City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center has set out to expand support for children and youth through media education programs for families and agreements with related organizations.
The Anyang City Youth Counseling and Welfare Center (Director Min Mi-yeon), under the Anyang City Youth Foundation, announced that it will operate the "Parent-Child Media Day" program to foster a healthy media usage culture.
This program targets 15 families consisting of guardians and elementary school students in grades 4 through 6 within the city. It is designed to examine household media usage habits and consists of experiential activities in which parents and children participate together. In particular, the program focuses on strengthening communication within families and improving the digital literacy capabilities of youth.
Applications for participation are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting April 22.
In addition, the Center signed a business agreement with the Gyeonggi-do Child Care Anyang Center and the Anyang City Myeonghak Together Care Center on the 24th, strengthening the cooperative system for supporting children and youth in crisis. Under this agreement, the three institutions plan to cooperate in various fields, including identifying children and adolescents at risk, providing counseling and case management, and exchanging information among the agencies. Through this, a foundation has been established to provide more rapid and systematic support to youth in crisis situations.
Center Director Min Mi-yeon stated, “We will support the formation of healthy media usage habits among youth through family-centered programs,” adding, “We will continuously expand the support system for children and adolescents at risk by strengthening ties with partner organizations in the local community.”
