[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 산청군이 공공 한약재 GMP(우수의약품 제조·품질관리기준) 시설 건립을 위한 국비 확보에 나섰다.
산청군은 지난 9일 경남도 산업정책과와 함께 보건복지부를 방문해 공공 한약재 GMP 시설 건립의 필요성을 설명하고 국비 지원을 요청했다고 10일 밝혔다.
군은 보건복지부 한의약산업과와의 면담에서 시설 구축 계획과 사업 필요성을 설명했다. 현재 의료기관에서 사용하는 의약품용 한약재는 GMP 기준을 갖춘 시설에서 생산된 제품만 사용할 수 있지만, 소량 소비 한약재는 공급이 원활하지 않아 의료 현장의 수급에 어려움이 있는 상황이다.
공공 한약재 GMP 시설은 원료 구매부터 가공, 포장, 출하까지 전 과정을 관리해 품질이 검증된 한약재를 생산·공급하는 시설이다. 군은 시설이 구축되면 소량 소비 한약재의 안정적인 공급 기반이 마련될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
또 지역 약초 재배농가의 판로 확대와 소득 증대는 물론, 산청한방약초산업특구를 중심으로 연구개발부터 생산·가공·유통까지 연결되는 산업 기반 구축에도 도움이 될 것으로 전망했다.
