Korean medical AI company Heuron is trying to turn a high-profile handover to Bangkok’s city government into paid hospital contracts, but its products are still awaiting regulatory clearance in Thailand.

The company’s Asia joint venture, Heuron Global, has supplied Bangkok authorities with its full suite of brain-imaging AI tools, a company spokesperson told Korea Biomedical Review.

The suite includes Heuron SCS for stroke screening, Heuron CTA for CT angiography, Heuron CTP for brain perfusion analysis, Heuron IPD for Parkinson’s disease assessment, Heuron AD for Alzheimer’s disease analysis and Heuron BrainPET for brain PET imaging.

The products have not yet been approved as medical devices in Thailand. Heuron expects the review to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, the spokesperson said.

Heuron said its Thai business is now being led through Heuron Global, a joint venture based in Bangkok. The company spokesperson said it is in talks with 16 hospitals in Thailand.

Two hospitals have completed product testing and are expected to sign paid contracts once regulatory approval is granted, the spokesperson said. Five more hospitals are conducting pilot use tests, while the remaining hospitals have testing schedules lined up.

The company did not confirm whether BMA General Hospital, the Bangkok municipal hospital named in Thursday’s announcement, has begun using the tools in live patient care. It also did not say whether the Bangkok city handover was a paid deal, a donation or a pilot program.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt received the AI-based diagnostic support solutions from Heuron Global at a ceremony last month, according to the company.

For Bangkok, the deal sits at the intersection of two pressures: a crowded public health system and a city government that has increasingly turned to digital tools to improve basic services.

Chadchart has cast technology as a way to make Bangkok more efficient and more responsive to residents.

In the Heuron announcement, he said AI could help reduce diagnostic errors and speed up treatment, adding that the technology could support Bangkok’s efforts to build a stronger public healthcare system.

Heuron Global was established on Jan. 12, 2026, to support Heuron’s Asia business. The Bangkok-based joint venture is covering Thailand and other regional markets including Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
