Cheongju University Produces Best Poster Award Winner at 'NANO KOREA 2026'... Proving Competitiveness in Opto-Semiconductor Research

Researcher Lee Chung-hyun, currently enrolled in the master's program in the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Cheongju University, won the Best Poster Award at the 'International Nanotechnology Conference (NANO KOREA 2026),' the largest international academic conference on nanotechnology in Korea. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, this conference serves as an event for sharing and exchanging world-class research achievements in the field of nanotechnology.

The research presented at the conference concerns the analysis of wavelength compression in nanohole arrays utilizing dielectric-dependent hybrid plasmonic modes. By applying various dielectric materials inside aluminum nanoholes, the study meticulously analyzed wavelength compression phenomena based on the size of the nanostructure and dielectric properties. Furthermore, through 3D FDTD simulations, the study elucidated the impact of the coupling interaction between internal cavity modes and local surface plasmon resonance on wavelength compression. This research was recognized as a significant study that can be utilized in the future development of advanced opto-semiconductor devices.

Researcher Lee Chung-hyun, who conducted the study, stated that this award was made possible thanks to the meticulous guidance of his advisor and the support of laboratory members who worked alongside him throughout the research and presentation process. He added that he gained a sense of reward and confidence from having the value and potential of his research recognized by various researchers, and expressed his intention to continue related research in the future.
