The ‘28th Paju Arts Festival,’ a representative cultural and artistic festival of Paju City, will be held in two phases this coming July and September, presenting citizens with a rich venue for culture and arts that blends performances, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences.
Under the theme of ‘Imagination and Passion,’ this festival is organized by the Paju Branch of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations (Paju Yechong). Local artists from eight artistic fields—Korean traditional music, dance, music, performing arts, theater, photography, literature, and fine arts—will participate to showcase diverse performance and exhibition programs.
The first phase of the event will take place from July 3 to 18 at local cultural facilities, including the Grand Performance Hall and the lobby of the Performance Building at the Unjeong Happiness Center. The Arts Festival will kick off with the opening performance, "Gugak Hanmadang & Into the Artistic Homeland," held at the Unjeong Happiness Center Grand Performance Hall on July 3 at 7:00 PM.
Prepared jointly by the Korean Traditional Music Association and the Dance Association, this performance is set to mark the beginning of the festival by showcasing the excitement and beauty of our traditional arts in one place.
Following this, on July 4, performances of various genres will be presented to the citizens.
"Romantic Busking," organized by the Paju Federation of Arts Associations, will fill the streets with music and connect closely with the citizens, while the Paju Wind Orchestra Percussion Ensemble, presented by the Music Association, will captivate the audience with a dynamic performance.
"Music Camp in Memories," presented by the Entertainment Artists Association, is set to convey memories and emotions through familiar music that transcends generations.
A rich array of exhibition programs has also been prepared. The Art Association’s exhibition “It Is Art Again” will be held in the first-floor lobby of the Unjeong Happiness Center’s Performance Building from July 4 to 7, while the Photographers Association’s members’ exhibition will run from July 4 to 11.
Following this, the Writers Association’s exhibition “The Scent of Poetry, the Heart Blossoms” will welcome citizens from July 14 to 18.
The Art Association plans to hold a special exhibition at the Peace Museum this coming September for one month to showcase the diverse artistic worlds of local artists.
Participatory programs for citizens visiting the festival will also be operated.
Various experiential events, such as instant photo shoots, are prepared to allow citizens to enjoy the arts festival up close and create cherished memories.
