Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City Selects Sinan’s ‘Imja Mannatne Village’ as ‘Rural Experience Village of the Month’
From tidal flat and smart farm experiences to sea survival swimming and water sports, all in one place - Safety enhanced with deployment of professional instructors… Safety and hygiene inspections of rural tourism facilities in the province to be conducted until the 16th
(Break News Jeonnam-Gwangju) Reporter Lee Hak-su = Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City announced that, with the start of the summer vacation season, it has selected ‘Imja Mannatne Village,’ located in Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun, as the ‘Rural Experience and Recreation Village of the Month,’ where visitors can simultaneously enjoy diverse experiences and healing amidst nature.
‘Imja Mannatne Village’ is a rural experience and recreation village established in 2012 through the collective efforts of local youth and village leaders for the village's development. Currently, it attracts tourists by operating comprehensive healing programs that allow visitors to enjoy travel, accommodation, and experiences in a one-stop manner.
The village's signature programs include mudflat and smart farm experiences, where children can learn about and feel the natural ecosystem firsthand. In particular, the village offers a special experience to visitors by running sea survival swimming classes that foster safety awareness during the summer.
In addition, dynamic water sports programs, such as kayaking and boating to help beat the summer heat, are available and are receiving a great response from family tourists.
The village has been as thorough about "safety" as it is about the fun of the programs. Certified instructors—including two rural experience guides, one lifeguard, and two rope play instructors—are stationed throughout the experience sites to proactively prevent accidents and ensure the convenience of visitors.
Imjado Island in Sinan, where the village is located, is a famous tourist destination that hosts the "Minnow Festival" in the summer, featuring the representative health food, Minnow, following the Tulip Festival in the spring. Visitors can enjoy a more fulfilling summer vacation by savoring fresh Minnow with the wide-open sea as a backdrop.
The village is also well-equipped with ample accommodation facilities. The facility operates a community center capable of accommodating up to 40 people, seven standard guest rooms, and five Hanok experience rooms offering a tranquil atmosphere. Detailed information regarding village experience programs and reservations can be found on the official website.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the selection of this month's Rural Experience & Recreation Village, Jeonnam Gwangju Special City is launching a large-scale inspection to create an environment where vacationers can stay with peace of mind.
The city plans to conduct intensive inspections of safety and hygiene management practices at rural experience & recreation villages, rural guesthouses, and tourist farms within its jurisdiction until the 16th.
Kim Hyun-mi, Head of the Agricultural Policy Division at Jeonnam Gwangju Special City, stated, "We hope you spend a safe and refreshing summer vacation at 'Imja Mannatne Village,' which is filled with diverse ecological experiences and staffed by professional safety instructors." She added, "We will do our utmost to conduct comprehensive inspections and supervision to ensure visitors can rest in a pleasant environment."
