A. 그렇다.

The following is the original English interview transcript.

Q. How do you evaluate the South Korean cryptocurrency market?

A. Driven by high liquidity, South Korea has long been famous for its 'Kimchi Premium,' yet everyday Web3 usage has been slow to take off. This dynamic is shifting significantly; from 2025 onward, the South Korean crypto market has matured past mere speculative trading, entering a new institutional era characterized by major banking partnerships regulatory framework integration, and widespread stablecoin adoption.

Q. Compared with Thailand, what are the biggest differences in terms of retail investor participation and trading activity?

A. Similar to South Korea, Thailand boasts a massive retail trader base, though its per-capita liquidity remains relatively moderate. Despite lower average capital per user, Thailand significantly outpaces South Korea in genuine Web3 utility, driven by a remarkably high adoption rate of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and non-custodial Web3 wallets.

Q. The Korean market is currently dominated by major local exchanges such as Upbit. From the perspective of a foreign exchange, how high are the barriers to entering the Korean market?

A. Much like Thailand, South Korea is a highly specialized market with steep barriers to entry. Success for external entities hinges entirely on deep local integration—requiring strong native partnerships, structural alignment, and an intimate understanding of the domestic user base.

Q. What is your view on Korea's real-name account system and the "one exchange, one bank" structure? How does it differ from Thailand's regulatory framework?

A. While distinct national regulatory systems have successfully established legitimacy, AML compliance, and user protection, they concurrently protect monopolies and stifle growth through extreme bank dependency and restricted foreign access. To unlock the market's true potential, we must advocate for the abolition of restrictive frameworks like South Korea's 'one-bank rule.' Opening up these ecosystems will systematically dilute monopolies, invite international capital, and catalyze advanced global innovation. Thailand built a system around licensing and SEC oversight — still strict on AML/KYC, but more flexible on market structure, open to foreigners, and actively courting innovation through sandboxes and tax incentives.

Q. Is Bitkub considering potential partnerships with Korean companies or financial institutions? For example, in areas such as stablecoins, tokenized securities, or digital payments.

A. Asia is a core growth market for us, and we are aggressively pursuing strategic partnerships here. We are currently in active discussions with multiple entities to expand our footprint.

Q. Discussions around Korean won-based stablecoins are becoming more active in South Korea. How do you see the future role of stablecoins in Asia's digital asset ecosystem?

A. Stablecoins and tokenization are the future of blockchain utility. As Southeast Asia's leading ecosystem, Bitkub is currently piloting THBK—a programmable Thai Baht solution—under the Bank of Thailand's Enhanced Regulatory Sandbox. Built on our native Layer-1, KUB Chain, this project represents a massive growth vehicle that will significantly expand both our practical use cases and our regional user base.

Q. Korean crypto investors are often described as highly active in altcoin trading and short-term speculation. Do you see any meaningful differences between Korean and Thai investor behavior?

A. While liquidity in Thailand has traditionally been hyper-concentrated in high-market-cap pillars (BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL), investor preference is clearly evolving. The market is now seeing a significant capital rotation as traders shift their focus and liquidity toward broader altcoin ecosystems.

Q. How is the Thai government approaching the institutionalization of digital assets? Do you think Thailand's regulatory direction is meaningfully different from Korea's?

A. Yes — and the difference is philosophical, not just technical. Korea built its framework around control and containment — the goal was to prevent abuse (money laundering, tax evasion, speculation). The real-name system and one-bank rule are both defensive instruments. They worked, but the side effect was a closed, monopolistic market. Thailand is building its framework around integration and expansion — the goal is to make digital assets a legitimate, productive part of the capital market infrastructure. G-Tokens, fund access, ETFs, stablecoin sandboxes, and securities-crypto bridges are all offensive moves — actively pulling digital assets upward into the financial system.

Q. Which Asian markets does Bitkub consider the most strategically important over the next few years? Is South Korea one of them?

A. Our primary growth engine is Asia, with this year's strategic roadmap hyper-focused on scaling both our Exchange and Blockchain ecosystems across Southeast Asia. While establishing a footprint in South Korea represents a long-term play, we are already executing on this vision by actively building structural foundations with key domestic partners on the ground.

Q. Many global exchanges are expanding beyond simple trading services into payments, wealth management, and tokenization businesses. Is Bitkub also moving toward becoming a broader digital financial platform?

A. Bitkub Group is systematically engineering the financial infrastructure of the future, where our digital asset exchange represents just a single component of a much broader ecosystem. We are deploying our own Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure to onboard mission-critical enterprise and governmental use cases, while simultaneously leading the region's on-chain payment rails by piloting the programmable Thai Baht stablecoin (THBK) within the Bank of Thailand's sandbox. Backed by Bitkub Portal as our proprietary tokenization engine, we are uniquely positioned to drive both technological innovation and regulatory alignment across Southeast Asia.

Q. In Korea, crypto exchanges are often criticized for relying too heavily on transaction fee revenue. What new business models or revenue streams is Bitkub currently preparing?

A. All I can say is we are continuously scaling into new business verticals to systematically expand and diversify our revenue streams.

Q. Do you believe South Korea's crypto market is overly concentrated around a few dominant exchanges? Is there still room for new entrants or overseas platforms?

A. Market opportunities exist, but entry remains highly challenging. To succeed, any incoming entity must possess deep-rooted local ties and a specialized understanding of the native market dynamics.

Q. Some industry participants argue that Korean regulations focus more on control than innovation. As an overseas exchange operator, how do you view Korea's regulatory stance?

A. The landscape is changing rapidly. The latest government policy reflects a clear shift toward driving innovation, creating fresh momentum for scalable enterprise blockchain solutions.

Q. Southeast Asia is often seen as one of the fastest-growing regions for Web3 adoption. Do you think Southeast Asia could outpace markets like Korea in blockchain and digital asset innovation?

A. While one market could potentially outpace the other, it is far more likely they will advance in tandem. A progressive regulatory shift in South Korea will undoubtedly spark a positive ripple effect across Southeast Asia. However, in the immediate term, Southeast Asia remains the primary engine for active innovation and real-world deployment.

Q. What are Bitkub's biggest priorities for the next three to five years? Regional expansion, institutional adoption, AI integration, tokenization, or something else?

A. Our roadmap centers on two core pillars: Regional Expansion and Institutional Use Case Expansion. To establish Bitkub as the region's most trusted financial platform, we are actively deploying our exchange and blockchain infrastructure across Southeast Asia while launching a suite of advanced enterprise features—including on-chain tokenization and programmable fiat payment rails.

Q. If Bitkub were to enter or expand into Korea in the future, what kind of opportunities would interest the company the most?

A. Our main priority right now is expanding our blockchain infrastructure. We're focused on capturing a larger user base and launching more practical, real-world use cases to drive network utility.
