[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 양산시 원동면에 처음으로 지방상수도가 공급되면서 주민들을 대상으로 급수 인입공사 신청 접수가 시작됐다.
원동면행정복지센터는 지난 16일부터 원동면 일대 지방상수도 인입공사를 본격 추진하고 있다고 21일 밝혔다. 이에 따라 그동안 마을상수도와 개인 지하수에 의존했던 주민들도 지방상수도를 이용할 수 있게 됐다.
기존 간이급수시설은 노후화로 인한 누수와 시설 관리 한계로 불편이 이어져 왔다. 지방상수도가 공급되면 양산시가 수질과 시설을 통합 관리해 안정적인 급수는 물론 누수나 단수 발생 시에도 신속한 대응이 가능해질 것으로 기대된다.
지방상수도 공급을 희망하는 주민은 원동면행정복지센터에 급수공사 신청서를 제출하면 된다. 공사 가능 여부를 검토한 뒤 본인 부담 공사비를 납부하면 순차적으로 인입공사가 진행된다.
원동면 관계자는 "지방상수도 인입공사가 본격화된 만큼 깨끗하고 안정적인 수돗물 공급을 희망하는 주민들의 많은 신청을 바란다"며 "체계적인 시설 관리로 기존 간이급수시설 이용에 따른 불편을 해소해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
