Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority Holds Public Relations Policy Advisory Committee Meeting… “All-out Effort to Enhance Awareness of Gwangyang Bay Area and Revitalize Investment Attraction”

Experts from Media, Businesses, and Related Organizations Gather… Seeking Ways to Maximize Public Relations Effectiveness - Discussing Various Aspects Including Establishing a System for Sharing Information on Tenant Companies, Strengthening Social Media Promotion, and Improving the Office Building’s PR Hall

(Break News Jeonnam Gwangju) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (hereinafter Gwangyang FEZ) has set out to strengthen its public relations capabilities to widely publicize its value as an attractive investment destination to domestic and foreign companies and investors.

Gwangyang FEZ announced that it held a "Public Relations Policy Advisory Committee Meeting" on June 30 in the situation room on the second floor of its office building. This meeting was organized to review the progress of public relations efforts to date and to identify new policies and specific measures to maximize promotional effectiveness.

Approximately 10 people attended the meeting on this day, engaging in in-depth discussions. These included five advisory committee members—composed of PR experts from the media, tenant companies, and related organizations—and five internal officials from the Gwangyang Economic Zone Authority.

The main agenda items included: sharing the status of PR initiatives for 2026 and strategies to enhance their effectiveness; PR support measures to raise awareness of tenant companies in the Gwangyang Bay area; and plans to increase visitor numbers following the comprehensive renovation of the office's PR hall.

The advisory committee members unanimously agreed that coordinated PR with local related organizations, such as the Yulchon Industrial Complex Council, the Jeonnam Root Enterprise Council, Jeonnam Technopark, and the Yeosu-Gwangyang Port Authority, is necessary to further enhance promotional effectiveness. They also proposed strengthening social media promotion centered on YouTube to keep pace with current trends, and actively utilizing media in multi-use facilities with high foot traffic nationwide.

In particular, the members emphasized that active PR support should be provided not only to anchor companies driving the growth of the Gwangyang Bay area but also to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which have relatively fewer opportunities for promotion. To this end, a specific idea was presented to establish a system for sharing key information, such as the products manufactured by each company, so that supply and demand among the 271 tenant companies currently located in the Gwangyang Bay area, local governments, and related organizations can be organically linked.

In addition, measures to revitalize resident-friendly public relations were discussed, such as inviting local residents and related organizations in the future, to increase the utilization of the PR Hall at the office building, which has been undergoing a complete renovation since last April.

Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority's Public Relations Policy Advisory Committee, composed of a total of 10 members, holds regular meetings twice a year in the first and second halves of the year and is playing a pivotal role in enhancing the brand value of the Gwangyang Bay area.
