POSCO Future M announced on May 6 that it has become the first in the Korean battery materials industry to be included in the ‘World Index’, the highest tier of the ‘DJBIC (Dow Jones Best-in-Class), formerly the DJSI’.
The DJBIC is a sustainability index announced annually by S&P Global, one of the world’s top three credit rating agencies, which comprehensively evaluates companies’ financial performance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. In 2025, the name was changed from the ‘Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)’ to ‘DJBIC’.
S&P Global includes the top 10% of the world’s 2,500 largest companies by market capitalization based on corporate sustainability assessment in the ‘World’ index, the top 20% of the 600 largest companies in the Asia-Pacific region in the ‘Asia-Pacific’ index, and the top 30% of the 200 largest domestic companies in the ‘Korea’ index.
POSCO Future M stated that it received a high evaluation for its systematic implementation of initiatives such as carbon emission reduction, supply chain management, and the strengthening of its safety and health management system across the Environmental, Social, and Governance assessment categories.
