대한축구협회가 주최하고 충청북도축구협회와 충주시축구협회가 주관하는 이번 대회에는 전국 17개 시·도를 대표하는 80개 팀, 2,200여 명의 동호인 선수가 출전한다. 경기는 탄금축구장과 수안보축구장을 비롯한 관내 12개 구장에서 분산 개최되며, 문화체육관광부, 국민체육진흥공단, 대한체육회, 충주시, 충주시의회가 후원한다.
