Chungbuk Office of Education Creates Customized Educational Environment Through Training for Alternative Education Institution Staff
The Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education held a working-level consultative meeting and capacity-building training for the second half of 2026 at the Chungju Office of Education, targeting officials from alternative education institutions in the Chungju, Jecheon, and Danyang regions. This training was initiated to enhance the professionalism of staff at alternative education institutions and to strengthen customized support for students at risk of dropping out by closely establishing a cooperative system between schools and entrusted institutions.
Starting with the northern region, this training will be held sequentially across a total of four regions—including Cheongju, the central region, and the southern region—until the 16th. Approximately 90 participants, including staff from the provincial Office of Education and working-level staff from alternative education institutions, are participating to review the current status of alternative education operations and assess practical capabilities.
The first session covered practical content that can be immediately applied in the field, including measures to improve the quality of education for entrusted students, preventive education techniques, student management card completion, and the settlement of operating expenses and management of supporting documents. In addition, hands-on activities applicable to actual alternative education programs, such as knotting and air freshener making, were conducted, and field experiences and know-how were shared between regions and institutions through Q&A sessions.
The Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education is currently operating a variety of alternative education programs—including career and vocational education, character education, counseling, and arts and physical education—for students at risk of school maladjustment or dropping out. The office plans to create a safe and substantial educational environment through continuous on-site inspections and consulting.
An official from the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education stated that for alternative education to bear fruit, the expertise of practitioners who interact most closely with students in the field and cooperation between institutions are paramount. The official added that they will spare no support to ensure that the field cases shared during this training lead to the strengthening of practical operational capabilities, allowing alternative education to serve as a reliable safety net and learning opportunity for children.
