Jincheon County Successfully Concludes ‘One Town/One Project’ Training Program for Fostering Female Agricultural Leaders

The Jincheon County Agricultural Technology Center has successfully completed the ‘One Town/One Project’ training program, which was promoted to discover the latent capabilities of rural women and cultivate their leadership qualities. Held from February to the end of April, the program saw the participation of approximately 180 members from seven towns and townships affiliated with the Jincheon County Federation of the Korea Rural Women’s Association, demonstrating a strong enthusiasm for learning.

The training program was diversely structured to reflect the unique characteristics of each region and the needs of the members. Participants carried out various handicraft tasks requiring specialized skills, ranging from making quilts and clothing using natural dyes to mother-of-pearl, textile, silver, and leather crafts, as well as hand knitting. Through this, they not only soothed their minds and bodies exhausted from farming activities during the busy season but also acquired new life skills, providing an opportunity to improve the quality of rural life. Association President Lee Kyung-ja assessed that this training held significance beyond merely acquiring new skills, and the County Agricultural Technology Center pledged to provide unwavering support to help the Women’s Rural Development Association grow into key leaders of rural society.

The craftworks created with great care by the members will not stop here but will also be shared with the local community. The County plans to formally exhibit the training results at the ‘Rural Leaders and Women’s Rural Development Association Members’ Unity Festival’ to be held this coming July, aiming to boost the members’ sense of accomplishment and promote the diversity of local culture and arts.
