진천군은 오는 29일까지 관내 농촌 마을을 대상으로 ‘2026년 농번기 마을 공동급식소 지원사업’ 신청을 받아 총 35개 마을을 최종 선정해 지원할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 진천군이 적극적인 기업 유치로 확보한 지방세수를 농업과 농촌에 재투자하는 ‘기업유치세수 농업환원사업’의 일환으로 마련됐다. 농가에 실질적인 농업 복지 혜택을 제공함으로써 농업인의 삶의 질을 다각도로 끌어올린다는 취지다.
신청 대상은 15명 이상 모여 공동급식을 진행할 수 있는 관내 마을로, 읍·면별로 5개소씩 선정해 개소당 최대 200만 원의 사업비를 지원한다. 지원 금액은 식재료 구매 비용 및 급식 도우미 인건비 등으로 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.
농번기 마을 공동급식은 식사 준비와 장보기 등에 드는 시간을 절약해 주어 여성농업인의 가사 부담을 대폭 감소시킨다. 이를 통해 농업인들이 영농 활동에 오롯이 집중할 수 있는 여건을 만들고 주민 간 자연스러운 소통을 이끌어내며 농촌 공동체를 활성화하는 효과가 기대된다.
