이번 조례안은 바르게살기운동조직 운영과 추진 사업 활성화를 위한 행정·재정적 지원 규정을 투명하게 다듬는 데 주력했다. 주요 내용으로는 바르게살기운동 사업 지원 범위를 명확히 하고, 보조금의 지원 신청과 교부, 정산에 관한 절차를 세부적으로 규정했다. 아울러 지역사회 발전에 이바지한 유공 개인 및 단체에 대한 포상 규정도 함께 담아 단원들의 사기를 높일 계획이다.
지자체 의회 관계자는 그동안 바르게살기운동조직이 지역사회의 화합과 발전을 도모하고자 여러 현장에서 봉사 활동을 이어왔지만 이를 뒷받침할 제도적 기틀은 다소 아쉬웠던 것이 사실이라며, 조례 제정을 계기로 조직이 보다 안정적인 환경에서 활동을 지속해 건강한 지역사회를 만드는 데 기여하길 기대한다고 밝혔다.
한편 이번 조례안은 오는 9월 18일 개최되는 제221회 증평군의회 정례회 제2차 본회의에서 최종 심의를 거쳐 의결될 예정이다.
