전남도는 29일 도청 정철실에서 ‘통합특별시형 이민비자 설계 용역’ 최종보고회를 개최하고, 지역 여건 변화를 반영한 맞춤형 이민비자 패키지를 정부에 공식 건의하기로 했다고 밝혔다.
이날 보고회에서는 통합특별시 출범에 따른 지역 환경 변화를 면밀히 분석하고, 외국인 주민이 지역 사회에 안정적으로 융합될 수 있도록 지원하는 이민비자 모델의 최종안이 공유됐다.
전남도는 이번에 도출된 이민비자 모델을 기반으로 ▲유학생 ▲농어업 숙련인력 ▲글로컬 창업·마케팅 우수인재를 아우르는 ‘통합특별시 지역이민 패키지 프로그램’을 마련해 법무부에 제안할 방침이다.
주요 건의 사항으로는 먼저 인력난이 심각한 농어촌을 위해 계절근로 숙련인력의 가족 단위 정착 지원이 포함됐다. 또한 외국인 우수 인재가 인구감소지역 내 산업단지에서 인턴십을 활발히 이어갈 수 있도록 시간제 취업 제한을 완화하고, 지역 관광 및 특산품 등 로컬 콘텐츠의 해외 판로 개척을 돕는 글로컬 창업 요건 완화 등 규제 개선 과제들이 대거 담겼다.
