전남개발공사는 29일, 곡성 청년하우징타운 조성사업 현장 인근에서 지역 주민과 임직원이 함께하는 배수로 정비 및 환경정화 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 활동은 공사가 추진 중인 주민참여형 사회공헌 프로그램 '환경지킴이'의 일환으로 마련됐다. 건설 현장 주변의 생활환경을 쾌적하게 조성하는 것은 물론, 여름철 집중호우로 인한 침수 피해를 선제적으로 예방하자는 취지다.
이날 봉사활동에 참가한 주민들과 공사 임직원들은 사업 현장 주변과 마을 안길의 생활쓰레기를 수거하고, 우기철 배수에 차질을 줄 수 있는 배수로 내부의 낙엽과 토사를 집중적으로 제거했다.
공사가 추진하는 '곡성 청년하우징타운 조성사업'은 곡성군으로부터 위탁받아 청년과 신혼부부의 주거 안정을 위해 공공임대주택 총 55세대(가족형 25세대, 원룸형 30세대)를 공급하는 프로젝트다.
공사는 이번 곡성에서의 활동을 시작으로, 향후 '전남형 만원주택' 사업이 진행 중인 진도와 고흥 등 전남 관내 다른 지역 현장으로도 '환경지킴이' 활동을 대폭 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
