전남광주통합특별시는 관세청 광주본부세관과 함께 실시한 ‘지역 토착상품 원산지 표시 합동점검’에서 이 같은 위반 행위를 적발했다고 1일 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 지역 먹거리인 홍어에 대한 소비자의 신뢰와 안전성을 확보하고, 원산지 허위 표시 등 먹거리 관련 불법행위를 선제적으로 차단하기 위해 추진됐다.
단속을 주도한 전남광주통합특별시 사회재난과 특별사법경찰팀은 광주본부세관과 공조하여 지역 내 수산물 유통업체 및 장례식장 10개소를 대상으로 집중 점검을 벌였다. 이 과정에서 수산물 원산지를 고의로 속여 판 유통·판매업체 2개소가 덜미를 잡혔다.
