Okcheon County has partnered with a specialized private organization to further elevate the quality of care services provided to local children and adolescents and to create a safe childcare environment.

Okcheon County officially signed a consignment agreement for the management and operation of the 'Cheongseong Children's Happiness Center' with the Cheongseong Education Community Social Cooperative at the County Office.

Prior to this, the County held a selection committee meeting for the entrusted agency and, after evaluating the effectiveness of the center's operation plan and business execution capabilities from various angles, ultimately selected the cooperative as the entrusted agency to lead the center for the next three years and five months.

Under this agreement, the Cheongseong Education Community Social Cooperative will be responsible for the overall facility management and operation of the Cheongseong Children's Happiness Center from August 1, 2020, until December 31, 2029. The key tasks of the agreement include the overall operation of the center, the establishment of a safe and pleasant care environment for children in the Cheongseong-myeon area, and the support of customized child care services.

At the signing ceremony, Okcheon County Governor Hwang Gyu-cheol expressed his hope that the center—the only care and education space for children and adolescents in Cheongseong-myeon—would become a happy place for both children and parents, based on the rich field experience and expertise of the Cheongseong Education Community. He emphasized that the county would spare no administrative support to ensure that local children receive meticulous and warm care.

Following this, Han Sang-gil, Representative of the Cheongseong Education Community Social Cooperative, also expressed a profound sense of responsibility in taking charge of the center's operation. He conveyed his intention to manage the center with utmost care, based on the operational experience accumulated over the past three years, to ensure the healthy growth of local children.

Meanwhile, the Okcheon County Cheongseong Children's Happiness Center is a space established after being selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's public contest project for responding to low birth rates. It features two floors above ground and a total floor area of 208.65 square meters. The first floor is used as a care space for children under elementary school age, and the second floor is used as a learning and counseling space for middle and high school students. It is planned to continuously provide comprehensive, customized care services, such as meals and snacks and after-school learning support, to up to 30 children.
