Okcheon County to Partially Restrict Government 24 and Kiosk Services Starting the 27th… Aftermath of the Launch of the Integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju City

Okcheon County, North Chungcheong Province, urged residents to check in advance and obtain documents early, stating that some public services will be temporarily suspended from the 27th until the morning of July 1st due to data conversion and stabilization work in administrative information systems following the launch of the Integrated Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City.

According to Okcheon County, access to certain civil services, such as the issuance of building registers and local tax payments, will be restricted from the 27th to the 28th. Furthermore, from 6:00 PM on the 30th to 9:00 AM on July 1st, public services across 78 administrative information systems—including the issuance of resident registration certificates and extracts, land registers, and tax payment certificates—are scheduled to be temporarily suspended nationwide.

However, the restriction on the issuance of resident registration certificates and extracts does not apply to all residents nationwide. This restriction applies only to citizens with addresses in Jeollanam-do and Gwangju Metropolitan City.

During the service suspension period, not only online civil petition services via Government 24 but also the issuance of various certificates using unmanned kiosks installed at administrative welfare centers may be restricted, requiring special caution from county residents.

Accordingly, Okcheon County emphasized that residents requiring certificates for purposes such as submitting documents to financial institutions, applying for various permits and licenses, paying taxes, or real estate transactions should check the suspension schedule in advance and obtain necessary documents beforehand to minimize inconvenience.

An official from Okcheon County explained that this suspension of public services is due to the nationwide administrative information system transition work being carried out as part of the preparations for the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City. Furthermore, the official urged residents to check the suspension period in advance and prepare their documents beforehand to avoid disruptions in processing their civil petitions.
