Saenggeojincheon Cultural Foundation Selected for '26 Chungbuk Culture and Arts Education Contest… Launching ‘The Theater Comes Alive’

The Saenggeojincheon Cultural Foundation has been selected for a project by North Chungcheong Province, enabling it to provide local youth with opportunities for immersive performing arts experiences.

The Saenggeojincheon Cultural Foundation announced on the 18th that its program, "The Theater Comes Alive," submitted to the regional cooperation project contest for culture and arts education under the 2026 Chungbuk Culture and Arts Education Support Project, was finally selected. Through this selection, the Foundation plans to fully utilize the Jincheon Arts Center, completed last June, as a regional cultural and arts hub that harmoniously combines education and hands-on experience, going beyond a mere venue for watching performances.

"The Theater Comes Alive" is an experiential education program that comprehensively includes understanding theater facilities and spaces, learning audience etiquette, backstage tours, understanding the production process, and actual performance viewing and appreciation activities. The program will run from this coming September to November, targeting upper-grade elementary and middle school students within the district. Up to 35 youths will participate in each session to engage in in-depth field experiences.

Through this project, the Foundation plans to transform the performance hall into a cultural space that residents visit regularly and establish a virtuous cycle that elevates the quality of local culture by supporting future generations to understand performing arts more deeply from an early age. Equipped with a medium-sized performance hall, a small performance hall, exhibition rooms, and educational spaces, the Jincheon Arts Center is solidifying its position as a representative cultural facility in the region by linking high-quality planned performances and exhibitions with education.

An official from the Saenggeojincheon Cultural Foundation stated that the selection in this open call is highly significant as it lays the foundation for children and youth to directly experience high-quality performances through the Jincheon Arts Center and grow into mature cultural citizens. The official added that the Foundation will continue to organically link differentiated education with performances to continuously elevate the cultural stature of the region.
