Boeun County Youth Center Supports Career Exploration and Physical Fitness Improvement for Local Youth in Linkage with Special Education Development Zone
The Boeun County Youth Center is launching the "Cloud Board Project," a school-linked special talent and aptitude program linked to the Free Semester System, targeting 50 first-year students at Boeun Middle School.
This Cloud Board Project was planned as part of the Boeun County Special Education Development Zone linkage initiative. Its purpose is to help youth discover their own interests and aptitudes and broaden the scope of their career exploration by allowing them to directly experience diverse fields during their Free Semester System class time.
The program will run for a total of 17 sessions in a dedicated program room within the Boeun County Youth Center, utilizing the 6th and 7th periods every Thursday until December 24. The curriculum is diversely composed of five fields—baking, magic, climbing, new sports, and boxing—to balance creative experiential activities and physical activity for the youth. In the baking class, students gain hands-on experience with related professions by preparing items such as cookies, muffins, scones, and pizza bread. In the magic class, they cultivate creativity and expressiveness by learning everyday magic as well as stage and card magic. Additionally, the climbing course is designed to teach everything from how to wear safety equipment to step-by-step basic climbing techniques, while the New Sports class fosters teamwork through pickleball and flying discs. The boxing class is planned to strengthen basic physical fitness and confidence by focusing on basic stances and mitt training.
The Boeun County Youth Center plans to conduct student-tailored participatory classes by assigning professional instructors in each field, while ensuring a safe experience environment through thorough pre-class safety education and equipment inspections.
Ahn Eun-sook, Head of the Resident Happiness Division, expressed her hope that the "Cloud Board Project" will serve as an opportunity for youth to discover their potential and concretize their future career paths through diverse experiences. She also stated that the center will continue to solidify ties with schools and the local community to support the healthy growth of youth in various ways.
The Boeun County Youth Center plans to continue developing and expanding customized career experience programs that reflect the needs of local youth.
