[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 더불어민주당 부산시당이 부산 북구갑 국회의원 보궐선거를 하루 앞두고 무소속 한동훈 후보를 향해
'불법 선거사무소 운영'과 '위장전입' 의혹을 정면으로 제기
하며 사법당국의 즉각적인 수사를 촉구했다.
민주당 부산시당은 논평을 통해 한동훈 후보가 선거 막판에 불거진 중대한 의혹에 대해 구체적인 해명은 회피한 채, '
정치공작'과 '피해자 코스프레'로 일관
하며 유권자를 기만하고 있다고 강하게 비판했다.
시당 측은 한 후보가 전날(1일) 개최한 기자회견을 언급하며, 선거법 위반 혐의에 대한 합리적인 의혹 제기를 '마타도어'나 '흑색선전'으로 매도하며 사태의 본질을 호도했다고 지적했다. 이어 평생 검사로 재직하며 윤석열 대통령의 핵심 인사로 활동했던 과거를 정조준하며, 그 칼날이 이제 자신을 향하고 있음을 직시해야 한다고 꼬집었다.
현재 선거관리위원회와 사법당국에 신고된 한 후보 측의
핵심 의혹은 두 가지
다.
첫째는 공직선거법상 유사기관 설치 금지 조항을 위반한 '미등록 불법 선거사무소 운영' 의혹이며, 둘째는 타 지역 지지자들이 선거 목적을 위해 북구로 주소지를 허위 이전했다는 '위장전입' 의혹이다.
이에 대해 민주당은 해당 사안들이 선거의 공정성을 뿌리째 흔드는 중대한 실정법 위반이자 민주주의 파괴 행위라고 규정했다. 공식 등록되지 않은 밀실에서 조직적인 불법 선거 운동이 모의되었다면 이는 심각한 범죄라는 설명이다.
시당 측은 "법을 누구보다 잘 아는 한 후보가 구체적인 해명이나 반박 대신 '거대 정당이 무소속 후보를 공격한다'며 피해자 흉내를 내는 데 급급했다"고 질타했다. 이어 의혹이 사실이 아니라면 해당 공간의 용도, 자금 출처, 출입 인원 일지를 명명백백히 공개하면 될 일이라고 압박했다.
마지막으로 민주당 부산시당은 선관위와 사법당국에 한 후보 측의 불법 선거사무소 개설 및 위장전입 의혹에 대한 즉각적이고 전방위적인 수사를 촉구하는 한편, 한 후보가 북구 주민 앞에 석고대죄할 것을 요구했다. 또한 거짓과 불법으로 쌓은 모래성은 결국 북구 주민들의 현명한 심판에 의해 무너질 것이라고 경고했다.
[Here is the English version of the artice] DP Busan Chapter Slams Independent Han Dong-hoon Over Alleged Election Law Violations
With only one day left before the Busan Buk-gu Gap parliamentary by-election, the Democratic Party of Korea’s (DP) Busan provincial chapter launched a fierce attack against independent candidate Han Dong-hoon, accusing him of operating an unregistered, illegal campaign office and orchestrating a fraudulent residency scheme.
In a sharply worded commentary, the DP Busan chapter condemned Han for evading specific explanations regarding the mounting allegations and instead resorting to "victim cosplay" and outdated claims of "political maneuvering" to mislead voters.
The chapter pointed to a press conference held by Han the previous day, accusing him of deflecting the core issues by dismissing legitimate voter concerns over election law violations as "1980s-style mudslinging" and "black propaganda." They further targeted Han’s career as a lifelong prosecutor and his past role as a key enforcer for President Yoon Suk-yeol, warning him to face the reality that his own sword has now turned against him.
According to the DP, two central allegations have been filed with the National Election Commission (NEC) and law enforcement agencies. The first is the operation of an unlisted, illegal campaign office, which directly violates election laws strictly prohibiting the establishment of unauthorized election organizations. The second involves a fraudulent residency registration scheme, in which Han’s supporters allegedly falsified their addresses to the Buk-gu district solely to cast illegal votes.
The DP defined these two issues as critical violations of statutory law and a direct assault on democracy that fundamentally undermines the fairness of the election. They emphasized that if systematic campaigning and illicit strategies were indeed plotted in an unregistered, backroom facility, it constitutes a severe electoral crime.
"Despite being a legal expert who knows the law better than anyone, Candidate Han failed to provide a single word of concrete explanation or rebuttal during his press conference," the chapter stated. "Instead, he was merely preoccupied with playing the victim, complaining that a giant political party is ganging up on a lone independent." The DP added that if the allegations were groundless, Han should confidently disclose the office's purpose, funding sources, and visitor logs.
Finally, the DP Busan chapter strongly urged the NEC and law enforcement authorities to launch an immediate and sweeping investigation into the illegal office and fraudulent residency allegations. Warning that a castle built on lies and illegality would inevitably crumble under the wise judgment of Buk-gu voters, the party demanded that Han confess the truth and make a formal, solemn apology to the public.
