[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 김석준 부산시교육감 선거대책위원회는 16일 법률전문가 12명으로 구성된 ‘부정선거감시단’ 및 ‘가짜뉴스 대책본부’를 발족하고, 온·오프라인상의 허위사실 유포와 악의적 비방에 대한 본격적인 모니터링 활동에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
이날 발족된 기구는 법무법인 인유의 김성진 변호사를 비롯해 변호사, 법학교수 등 법률전문가와 SNS 서포터즈 등으로 구성됐다.
이번 조치는 최근 김석준 후보의 공식 유튜브 채널인 ‘김석준TV’ 삭제 사태에 이어, 후보를 사칭한 페이스북 가짜 계정까지 등장하는 등 조직적이고 악의적인 사이버 선거방해 공작이 잇따르고 있다는 판단에 따른 대응책이다. 캠프 측은 이러한 행위가 후보의 공식 입장을 왜곡하고 지지자들을 혼란에 빠뜨릴 수 있다고 보았다.
김 후보 캠프 관계자는 “교육감 선거는 과정 자체가 아이들에게 보여줄 수 있는 가장 살아있는 교육이어야 한다”며 “유권자의 소통 창구를 악용해 민주주의를 훼손하는 행위가 도를 넘어 선거의 본질을 흐릴까 우려스럽다”고 전했다.
이어 “그 어떤 선거보다 깨끗하고 공정해야 할 교육감 선거가 사이버 테러나 가짜뉴스로 혼탁해져서는 안 된다”며 “가짜뉴스는 유권자의 판단을 흐리게 할 뿐만 아니라 교육감 선거 자체에 대한 시민들의 실망으로 이어질 수 있어 강력하게 대응하기로 했다”고 발족 배경을 설명했다.

이를 위해 ‘가짜뉴스 대책본부’는 SNS와 온라인 게시판 등에 대한 24시간 모니터링 체계를 구축했다. 동시에 캠프 내에 ‘가짜뉴스 신고센터’를 설치하고 공식 홈페이지와 SNS를 통해 시민 제보를 받는 등 전방위적인 대응에 나선다. 또한, ‘부정선거감시단’을 통해 각종 불법 선거운동에 대한 현장 확인 및 채증 활동도 강력히 전개할 방침이다.
캠프 측은 공직선거법상 사이버 테러, 허위사실 공표, 후보자 비방, 명예훼손 등 범죄행위에 해당하는 사안에 대해 가능한 모든 수단을 동원해 즉각적인 법적 대응에 나설 것이며, 선거가 끝난 이후에도 반드시 끝까지 법적 책임을 묻겠다고 강력한 의지를 표명했다.

Kim Seok-jun’s Campaign Launches ‘Fair Election Watchdog’ and ‘Anti-Fake News Task Force’
**- Composed of 12 legal experts to conduct 24/7 monitoring; camp vows strict legal action and post-election accountability**
On May 16, the campaign committee for Busan Superintendent of Education candidate Kim Seok-jun officially launched the "Fair Election Watchdog" and the "Anti-Fake News Task Force." Comprising 12 legal professionals, the newly formed bodies have begun extensive monitoring of both online and offline activities to counter the spread of false information and malicious slander.
The task force and watchdog group consist of legal experts, including Attorney Kim Sung-jin from the In-Yoo Law Firm, alongside other lawyers, law professors, and a team of social media supporters.
This countermeasure comes in response to a recent series of organized and malicious cyber election interference tactics. These incidents include the abrupt deletion of Candidate Kim’s official YouTube channel, "Kim Seok-jun TV," and the emergence of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the candidate. The campaign determined that such actions severely distort the candidate's official stances and mislead supporters.
"An election for superintendent of education must inherently serve as a living education for our children," a campaign official stated. "It is deeply concerning that some are exploiting communication channels to undermine democracy and cloud the true nature of this election."
The official added, "An education superintendent election must be cleaner and fairer than any other. It should not be tainted by cyberattacks or fake news, which not only mislead voters but also cause public disillusionment with the educational leadership election itself. This is why we have resolved to take a firm stand."
To execute this strategy, the Anti-Fake News Task Force has established a 24-hour monitoring system covering social media platforms and online community boards. Additionally, a "Fake News Report Center" has been set up within the campaign headquarters, actively gathering tips from the public via the official website and social media. Meanwhile, the Fair Election Watchdog will strictly monitor on-site illegal campaign activities, conducting field checks and collecting evidence.
The campaign expressed a strong commitment to deploying all available resources to pursue legal remedies against criminal activities defined under the Public Official Election Act—such as cyberattacks, the publication of false facts, candidate slander, and defamation. They emphasized that perpetrators will be held legally accountable to the fullest extent, even after the election concludes.
