[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도가 제조업의 인공지능(AI) 전환(AX) 확산을 위해 권역별 혁신 세미나를 열고 현장 중심의 AI 도입 지원에 나섰다.
경남도는 21일 김해 아이스퀘어호텔에서 도내 제조기업과 경남테크노파크, 한국전자기술연구원 관계자 등 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 '제조 AX 혁신 세미나'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 세미나는 산업통상자원부의 '산업인공지능 전환 및 확산 기반 조성사업'의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 제조 AI 최신 기술과 제조혁신 사례를 공유해 도내 기업의 AI 활용 역량을 높이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
이날 행사에서는 제조 AX 기술의 현장 적용 사례와 제조산업 AX 추진 방향, 기업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 AI 활용 전략 등을 주제로 전문가 발표가 이어졌다. 참석 기업들은 실제 제조 공정에 AI를 적용한 사례를 공유받고 도입 방안을 논의했다.
경남도는 김해를 시작으로 진주와 창원 등 주요 산업 권역에서도 세미나를 순차적으로 개최할 예정이다. 지역 산업 특성과 기업 수요를 반영한 사례 중심 프로그램을 운영해 제조기업의 AI 도입을 확대한다는 계획이다.
도는 2023년부터 한국전자기술연구원 동남권지역본부, 경남테크노파크와 함께 산업인공지능 전환 및 확산 기반 조성사업을 추진하고 있다. 그동안 도내 기업 11곳에 디지털 전환 컨설팅을 지원했으며, 산·학·연 협력을 통해 신규 사업과 연구개발 과제 65건을 발굴해 사업화를 진행 중이다.
올해는 제조기업 공정 데이터를 활용한 AX 미니프로젝트와 제조 AI 전문인력 양성을 추진하고, 오는 8월에는 대학생과 재직자가 참여하는 '경남 산업인공지능 경진대회'를 개최해 제조업 AI 전환 분위기를 확산할 계획이다.
박환 경남도 인공지능산업과장은 "AI를 생산성과 품질을 높이는 제조혁신 수단으로 활용할 수 있도록 권역별 세미나를 통해 우수사례를 확산하고 제조기업의 AI 도입을 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.

Gyeongnam Province has set out to support field-oriented AI adoption by holding regional innovation seminars to spread the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Transition (AX) in the manufacturing sector.
Gyeongnam Province announced that it held the "Manufacturing AX Innovation Seminar" on the 21st at the I-Square Hotel in Gimhae, attended by approximately 50 people, including representatives from local manufacturing companies, Gyeongnam Technopark, and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute.
This seminar was organized as part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Project to Establish a Foundation for Industrial AI Transition and Diffusion." It focused on enhancing the AI utilization capabilities of companies in the province by sharing the latest manufacturing AI technologies and examples of manufacturing innovation.
During the event, expert presentations covered topics such as on-site application cases of manufacturing AX technology, the direction of AX promotion in the manufacturing industry, and strategies for utilizing AI to strengthen corporate competitiveness. Participating companies received sharing of cases where AI was applied to actual manufacturing processes and discussed implementation plans.
Gyeongnam Province plans to sequentially hold seminars in major industrial regions, starting with Gimhae and extending to Jinju and Changwon. The province aims to expand the adoption of AI by manufacturing companies by operating case-based programs that reflect regional industrial characteristics and corporate demand.
Since 2023, the province has been promoting the "Industrial AI Transition and Diffusion Foundation Building Project" in collaboration with the Southeast Regional Headquarters of the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) and Gyeongnam Technopark. To date, it has provided digital transformation consulting to 11 companies within the province and has identified 65 new projects and R&D tasks through industry-academia-research collaboration, with commercialization currently underway.
This year, the province plans to promote AX mini-projects utilizing manufacturing process data and foster specialized personnel for manufacturing AI. Furthermore, in August, it will host the "Gyeongnam Industrial AI Competition," involving university students and working professionals, to spread awareness of the AI transition within the manufacturing sector. Park Hwan, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Division of Gyeongnam Province, said, "We will disseminate best practices through regional seminars and actively support the adoption of AI by manufacturing companies so that AI can be utilized as a means of manufacturing innovation to enhance productivity and quality."
