Mervyn’s Petcare, the U.S. subsidiary of Korean pharmaceutical company Yuyu Pharma focused on pet health supplements, is accelerating its expansion into the U.S. pet market by launching its feline oral care supplement, ARI’S PURRFECT DENTAL BITES, on Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce platform.

ARI’S PURRFECT Cat Dental Bites is designed to provide convenient oral care for cats that are difficult to brush daily. The snack-type supplement supports oral hygiene naturally as cats chew it, helping remove plaque and tartar buildup on tooth surfaces.
The product’s key ingredient is SHMP (sodium hexametaphosphate), a compound widely used for dental health management. SHMP binds with calcium in saliva to help inhibit the formation of plaque and tartar on teeth.
Following more than a year of preparation involving market analysis, product development, local regulatory approvals and distribution channel establishment, Mervyn’s Petcare introduced ARI’S PURRFECT Dental Bites as its first product in the U.S. market. The company is also preparing to launch a second product, a stick-type nutritional supplement for cats.
The company plans to further expand its sales channels beyond Amazon to include direct-to-consumer (D2C) platforms targeting cat owners across the U.S.
According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), about 94 million U.S. households owned pets as of 2025, accounting for 51 percent of all households nationwide. Among them, around 49 million households own cats, making the U.S. the world’s largest single-country cat market.
Demand for functional pet supplements is also rising rapidly, driven by increasing feline life expectancy and the growing “pet humanization” trend, in which owners seek healthcare standards for pets comparable to those for humans.
“This Amazon launch marks the first achievement of Mervyn’s Petcare after a year of preparation since establishing the local subsidiary with the goal of entering the pet health supplement industry,” said Robert Won-sang Yu, CEO of Yuyu Pharma.
“It is particularly meaningful as Yuyu Pharma’s first overseas export since selecting the pet business as a new growth engine,” he added. “Going forward, we will continue identifying differentiated functional ingredients and local consumer needs to establish ourselves as a trusted pet care brand among U.S. cat owners.”
