-Automating Core Operations: Develops services that automate essential hospital tasks directly linked to revenue and operations, including appointment inquiries, rescheduling, cancellations, regular check-up recalls, and dormant patient management.
-Building Medical AI Infrastructure: Focuses on creating an operational AI infrastructure that enhances the efficiency of medical institutions while significantly improving the overall patient experience.
-High-Fidelity Integration: Distinguishes itself from general callbots by integrating directly with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to reflect the unique scheduling rules and protocols of individual clinics.
Medicall is a health-tech company developing AI solutions that automate phone consultations and patient management for medical institutions, starting with the dental industry. Founded in December 2025 by CEO Ian Moon (32), the company aims to redefine the operational backbone of clinics through advanced voice technology.
The company’s flagship service is ‘DentalCall,’ an EMR-integrated voice AI consultant dedicated to dental clinics. The service automates tasks directly related to clinic operations, such as handling appointment inquiries, managing rescheduling or cancellations, issuing regular check-up recalls, and reconnecting with long-term dormant patients. “We are not just building a service that answers phones on behalf of staff”, said CEO Ian Moon. “Our goal is to build a medical AI operational infrastructure that drives institutional efficiency and elevates the patient experience.”
Regarding the functionality of ‘DentalCall’ Moon explained, “In simple terms, it is a service where AI handles repetitive tasks previously performed by staff over the phone, operating 24/7. When a patient calls to book or change an appointment or asks about a treatment, the AI responds naturally. Simultaneously, the clinic can automatically initiate outbound calls for check-up reminders or to re-engage patients who haven't visited in a long time.”
The core differentiator of DentalCall is that it is not a generic ARS or a broad-market callbot. “Every dental clinic has different appointment protocols, clinic hours, specific doctor schedules, and consultation standards. To be truly viable in the field, a solution must be integrated with the EMR and reflect these unique operational nuances”, Moon emphasized. “We have focused specifically on creating an 'operation-ready' AI consultant that understands dental workflows and utilizes EMR data.”
Medicall identifies three primary competitive advantages for DentalCall. First is its dental-specific design. While general AI solutions struggle to reflect the intricate operational differences of dental practices, DentalCall is engineered based on dental-specific reservation rules, clinical flows, and patient management scenarios.
Second is its EMR-integration-based execution. Beyond merely ‘answering the phone’, the system must verify appointment availability, retrieve patient information, and record consultation details back into the system. This integration into the actual clinical workflow is the cornerstone of DentalCall’s value proposition.
Third is its senior-friendly voice interface. “In dentistry, there is a significant patient demographic more comfortable with phone calls than text or KakaoTalk messages. Because DentalCall interacts naturally through voice, it shows high responsiveness and conversion rates in real-world settings”, Moon added.
Currently, Medicall is focusing on direct sales and reference-based expansion rather than large-scale advertising. Because the dental market relies heavily on proven operational results and peer references, the company primarily meets with clinic directors to hear their pain points and validates the system’s performance through pilots and Proof of Concept (PoC) projects before full-scale implementation.
The Medicall team combines expertise in strategy, technology, and operations. CEO Ian Moon oversees business development, strategy, investment, and external relations, while CTO Beom-soo Kim leads the product architecture and data-driven system development. The COO manages hospital onboarding and project execution, supported by a specialized team of AI engineers and operational staff.
Looking ahead, Moon stated, “In the short term, our focus is on rapidly expanding the adoption of DentalCall within the domestic dental market and refining product maturity and operational efficiency. Our goal is for DentalCall to become an indispensable solution for dental operations, particularly in core scenarios like appointment handling, recalls, and dormant patient management.”
