HD Hyundai Electric Q1 net income up 35.4 pct to 207.7 bln won
SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) -- HD Hyundai Electric on Tuesday reported a first-quarter net profit of 207.7 billion won (US$141.1 million), up a sharp 35.4 percent from a year earlier.
The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 258.3 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 218.2 billion won a year ago. Revenue also rose 2.1 percent to 1.03 trillion won.
The earnings beat market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 202.9 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
