AITRICS announced Wednesday that it presented its patient deterioration prediction solution, AITRICS-VC (VitalCare), highlighting its clinical benefits and practical applications at a luncheon symposium during KSCCM·ACCC 2026, held last Thursday and Friday at BEXCO in Busan.
During the event, AITRICS hosted an exhibition booth adjacent to the symposium to showcase the clinical effectiveness and specific use cases of VitalCare.

On the first day, the luncheon symposium was chaired by Professor Lee Yeon-joo of the Department of Pulmonology at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, while Professor Ko Ryoung-eun of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Samsung Medical Center delivered a presentation titled “Strategic Sepsis Management Using AI.”
Professor Ko emphasized the importance of early recognition of sepsis and timely initiation of treatments, including antibiotics, fluid therapy and vasopressors, to improve patient outcomes. However, identifying the optimal timing for intervention remains a complex challenge in real-world clinical practice.
Professor Ko said, “In this context, VitalCare extends beyond issuing risk alerts. By recommending guideline-based optimal intervention timing, it acts as a clinical partner to support physicians in decision-making.”
VitalCare is an AI-powered solution that analyzes electronic medical record (EMR) data to predict early risks of sepsis, cardiac arrest and mortality. According to clinical studies, VitalCare improves early detection, reduces missed cases and provides more accurate predictions than conventional scoring systems.
On the second day, Professor Kim Jae-hun chaired the session, while Professor Kim Ki-hoon presented “Clinical and Operational Improvements Through the Implementation of an AI-Based Rapid Response Team (RRT),” featuring a case study from Haeundae Paik Hospital, where VitalCare was integrated from the outset.
An evaluation of Haeundae Paik Hospital’s RRT operations showed that VitalCare accurately detected high-risk patients before acute critical events -- including death, ICU transfer and cardiac arrest -- while generating fewer alerts than conventional early warning scores, thereby improving patient triage efficiency.
Professor Kim said, “This case indicates that integrating AI in the development of rapid response teams can strengthen hospital response systems and enable more structured interventions. With its capacity to detect early warning signs and provide clear response criteria, AI has the potential to become a foundational element of future hospital safety systems.”
AITRICS CEO Kim Kwang-joon said, “It was meaningful to share how VitalCare drove tangible changes in clinical practice at the conference. As an AI solution that supports decision-making and enables faster responses, VitalCare continues to expand its real-world applicability. We will keep listening to clinicians and develop trusted solutions.”
