Paju Office of Education Conducts Joint Safety Inspection of 15 School Buses
Comprehensive Verification of Seatbelts and Registration Certificates
The Paju Office of Education has tightened its grip on student protection by conducting a comprehensive inspection of the safety status of school buses within its jurisdiction.
On the 7th, the Paju Office of Education conducted a joint safety inspection of children's school buses, targeting 15 buses operated by kindergartens, elementary schools, special schools, and private academies.
This investigation was planned to verify whether safety standards for school buses, which children use every day, are being properly observed, and to raise safety awareness among operators and drivers. The vehicles targeted were those operating at three kindergartens, three elementary schools, one special school, and two private academies.
The inspection was led by the Paju Office of Education, with participation from Paju City Hall, the Paju Police Station, and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. The four agencies established a cooperative system by dividing their respective areas of expertise to enable more effective on-site inspections.
The items checked consist of three main categories. They inspected whether the school bus registration certificate was properly displayed on the vehicle, whether a digital tachograph was installed, and whether seat belts were installed and functioning properly on every seat. Vehicles found to be in violation on-site were instructed to take immediate corrective measures.
Superintendent Jeon Seon-ah stated, "Our goal is to build a tight safety net with the determination not to tolerate even a single accident," adding, "We will continue to work together with the local community to create a school commuting environment where parents can trust and entrust their children."
