Chungju Office of Education Conducts Joint Campaign with Related Agencies for Children's Traffic Safety

On the morning of April 28, the Chungju Office of Education in North Chungcheong Province conducted the "Children's Traffic Safety Campaign Shining with Yellow Card Keyrings" in collaboration with the Chungju Police Station at the main gate of Yeonsu Elementary School.

This campaign was organized to prevent traffic accidents within child protection zones and to create safe routes to and from school. Related agencies, including the Chungju Police Station, the Green Mothers' Association, and the faculty and staff of Yeonsu Elementary School, participated in the event to promote pedestrian safety rules, inspect traffic safety facilities, and distribute promotional materials.

In particular, as a practical measure to prevent children's traffic accidents, fluorescent "Yellow Card Keyrings" were distributed to lower-grade students. Made of fluorescent reflective material, these Yellow Cards help drivers easily recognize children from a distance, effectively reducing the risk of pedestrian accidents.

In addition, efforts were made to foster a safe school commuting culture by providing various promotional items to encourage student interest and participation. In addition, officials participating in the campaign inspected the installation and maintenance status of traffic safety facilities around schools and conducted traffic guidance activities to encourage drivers to slow down and observe stop lines in front of schools, while also discussing areas for improvement on-site.

Yoo Chung-seok, Superintendent of the Chungju Office of Education, stated, “I hope that the yellow cards distributed this time will be of practical help in creating safe routes to and from school for children,” adding, “We will continue to cooperate closely with relevant organizations to do our best to establish a traffic culture where children can travel with peace of mind.”
