North Chungcheong Province Holds Graduation Ceremony for Specialized Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Training Course… Producing Practical Bio Talents
North Chungcheong Province and the Joint Training Center of the Chungbuk Bio-Industry-Academic Convergence Institute held a graduation ceremony for the 'Specialized Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Training Course (1st)' as a result of the region and industry-tailored workforce development project, producing specialized talents equipped with practical field skills.
This workforce development program is a training course for prospective employees promoted with support from the Korea Human Resources Development Service, North Chungcheong Province, and the Chungbuk Regional Human Resources Development Committee. It was conducted over 30 days from June 29 to August 7, totaling 180 hours, with the goal of acquiring core competencies required for pharmaceutical production and quality control roles.
The curriculum consisted of theoretical education designed to facilitate a systematic understanding of pharmaceutical quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) roles, as well as field-tailored practical training involving the direct handling of key analytical instruments such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). In particular, more than half of the total training curriculum was allocated to practical training in equipment operation and validation, thereby enhancing the trainees' practical responsiveness so they could be immediately deployed to the industrial field upon completion. The faculty was also composed of current experts and professors with extensive practical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring the quality of the education.
Thanks to this practice-oriented training, six out of the 20 graduates have already achieved success, with some awaiting final interviews at companies or having secured employment. The Chungbuk Bio-Industry-Academic Convergence Center plans to continue providing personalized one-on-one job support services to the remaining graduates by partnering with major local pharmaceutical companies that have signed employment agreements.
An official from the Chungbuk Bio-Industry-Academic Convergence Center's Joint Training Center expressed hope that the trainees would grow into experts who will lead the pharmaceutical and bio industries based on the competencies they have acquired, and emphasized that the center would spare no effort in providing various support measures for the graduates, such as providing training allowances and connecting them with employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the Chungbuk Bio-Industry-Academic Convergence Institute’s Joint Training Center has been carrying out region and industry-tailored workforce training projects since 2017, and is contributing to strengthening regional industrial competitiveness by operating training for prospective employees in the bio field and job competency improvement courses for incumbents entirely free of charge.
