Jecheon City to Host Customized Refresher Training for Livestock Farmers in Jecheon and Danyang… Resolving Difficulties with Online Completion
Jecheon City has set out to organize in-person training to ease the inconvenience for local livestock farmers who are struggling to complete online education.
The city will conduct refresher training for livestock-related workers in the Jecheon and Danyang regions for two days, on August 13 and 14, at the Farmers' Training Center of the Jecheon City Agricultural Technology Center. Organized by the Chungbuk Provincial Headquarters of the Animal Health and Quarantine Support Headquarters, this training is designed for farmers who have not yet completed their training this year, with approximately 200 participants expected to attend, 100 per session.
The curriculum consists of practical content essential for the livestock industry, including livestock-related regulations, animal quarantine, disease management, and livestock environment improvement. Refresher training for livestock-related workers is a statutory requirement under the Livestock Act; licensed livestock farms must complete the training at least once a year, while farms registered as livestock breeders or livestock traders must complete it at least once every two years. If eligible individuals fail to complete the training this year, they may be subject to a fine of up to 5 million won in accordance with relevant laws.
One livestock farmer, who had been waiting for the training, stated that he felt relieved that face-to-face training was being held, as he had been unfamiliar with operating online courses via the internet or smartphones. He added that being able to receive detailed information on livestock disease prevention and the latest legal updates would be of great help to his farm operations.
Jecheon City also stated that it organized this face-to-face training to address the difficulties faced by farmers unfamiliar with digital devices. The city urged participants to ensure they complete the course within the deadline to prevent any disadvantages, such as fines, resulting from non-compliance. You can apply for this training by selecting your desired date through the Chungbuk Provincial Headquarters of the Animal Health and Quarantine Support Headquarters by August 12.
