Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation Operates '26 Youth Career Experience Program with Middle School Students in Cheongju
The Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation is carrying out continuous social contribution activities by providing local youth with diverse opportunities to explore careers in the bio-health field.
The Foundation successfully concluded the ‘2026 Youth Career Experience Program’ for four days, from July 13 to 16, targeting students from Solgang Middle School and Gyeongdeok Middle School in the Cheongju region.
First launched in 2019 and now in its eighth year, the Youth Career Experience is the Foundation’s representative customized social contribution activity. It was designed to enhance students’ understanding of the bio-health field and allow them to explore future careers by utilizing the excellent professional personnel and state-of-the-art infrastructure of the Foundation’s four core centers: the New Drug Development Support Center, the Advanced Medical Device Development Support Center, the Non-Clinical Support Center, and the Biopharmaceutical Production Center.
Students participating in this program toured four centers, receiving guidance on each center's core functions and various roles within the biohealth industry, and engaged in practical field-specific training.
One student who participated in the experience commented that although they usually have limited opportunities to encounter the biopharmaceutical industry, it was very interesting to experience firsthand the actual production process of biopharmaceuticals and medical devices as a researcher, and expressed a desire to participate again if given the chance. In this way, students cultivated a deep interest and understanding of the biohealth industry as a whole by directly experiencing the ecosystem of the cutting-edge medical industry, which is difficult to access in the public education system.
Ha Jae-sang, Head of the Management and Safety Division at KBIOHealth, expressed his hope that this career experience served as an opportunity for youth to feel more familiar with the bio and healthcare fields and to concretize their career paths. He emphasized that the Foundation will continue to actively utilize its expertise and infrastructure to provide diverse experiential opportunities to local youth and will consistently continue its educational philanthropy and social responsibility.
