Orion recorded double-digit growth in both revenue and operating profit in the first quarter of this year, driven by strong growth in its overseas subsidiaries in China, Vietnam, and Russia.
According to Orion's announcement of consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2026, sales reached 930.4 billion won, a 16% increase year-on-year, while operating profit rose 26% to 165.5 billion won.
Overseas subsidiaries were the driving force behind this performance growth. In particular, the Russian subsidiary recorded 90.5 billion won in revenue, a 34.7% increase, thanks to expanded production capacity for products like Cham Bungeoppang and Fresh Pie, as well as the strengthening of exclusive products for specific distribution channels. Operating profit also showed significant growth, rising 66.2% to 14.2 billion won.
The Chinese subsidiary recorded 409.7 billion won in revenue and 79.9 billion won in operating profit, boosted by the Lunar New Year peak season and strong sales of key products such as potato snacks, pies, and jellies. These figures represent increases of 24.8% and 42.7%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. The Vietnamese subsidiary also recorded sales of 151.3 billion won and an operating profit of 26.6 billion won, marking growth of 17.9% and 25.2%, respectively, driven by demand during the Tet holiday and the effect of new products.
The Indian subsidiary also saw its sales increase by 67% to 9.8 billion won, as its sales strategy focused on the northeastern region yielded results.
On the other hand, the domestic subsidiary successfully defended its performance despite the impact of sluggish domestic demand and rising raw material prices. Sales for the Korean subsidiary rose 0.4% to 283.4 billion won, while operating profit increased by 4.6% to 48.5 billion won, influenced by expanded royalty revenue resulting from the growth of overseas subsidiaries.
Orion plans to continue its growth momentum in the second half of the year by expanding investments in domestic and international production and logistics facilities.
