[Here is an English version of the article] The 20th National Para Student Sports Games, under the slogan “Future Running Together in Busan, a Global Hub City,” will take place across Busan from May 12 to 15.

Hosted by the Korea Paralympic Committee and organized by the Busan Metropolitan Government, this year’s event will bring together a total of 4,283 participants from 17 cities and provinces, including 1,979 athletes. It marks the largest edition to date, surpassing last year’s scale.

Competitions will be held at 17 venues across the city, featuring a total of 17 sports. These include five development sports—goalball, boccia, swimming, athletics, and table tennis—11 participation sports such as basketball, disc golf, volleyball, badminton, bowling, weightlifting, rowing, football, floorball, e-sports, and shulun, as well as one exhibition sport, showdown.

The development sports focus on official Paralympic and Asian Para Games events, aiming to identify promising athletes and enhance performance levels. Participation sports are designed to encourage broader involvement in physical activity among youth with disabilities and to expand grassroots engagement.

The opening ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on May 12 at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium under the theme “Sailing of Light in Busan, Into the Waves of Emotion,” featuring performances and programs celebrating the dreams and challenges of student athletes.

During the event, an experiential program titled “Dream Paralympics” will also be operated to promote disability awareness. Running from May 12 to 14 around Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, the program will offer students and citizens opportunities to experience para sports such as boccia and wheelchair basketball firsthand.

An official from the Korea Paralympic Committee said, “The National Para Student Sports Games go beyond competition, serving as a platform where student athletes with disabilities can build confidence and pursue their dreams through sport. We hope this 20th edition will serve as a meaningful milestone for the development of para youth sports and greater awareness of disabilities.”

Competition schedules and results will be available on the official website, while major events will be broadcast via KPC-TV, YouTube, SOOP TV, and Naver TV. Coverage will focus on four sports: swimming, volleyball, goalball, and badminton throughout the competition period.
