대전환준비위는 30일 최종 보고회를 개최하고, 각 분과에서 치열한 논의를 거쳐 가다듬은 핵심 공약 과제와 시정 운영 방향을 담은 최종 보고서를 강성휘 목포시장 당선인에게 전달했다.
이날 보고회와 보고서 전달을 끝으로 공식 활동을 마감한 대전환준비위는 지난 15일간의 발자취와 성과를 담은 백서를 제작해 오는 7월 중 시민들에게 공개할 계획이다.
고석규 위원장은 “짧은 기간이었지만 목포의 변화와 발전을 바라는 시민들의 염원을 담아내기 위해 모든 위원이 사명감을 가지고 임했다”며 “민선 9기 목포시가 출범과 동시에 안착하여 시민을 위한 행정을 펼칠 수 있도록 든든한 징검다리 역할을 할 수 있어 보람을 느낀다”고 소회를 밝혔다.
도시계획, 지역개발, 경영·회계, 복지 등 각계 전문가를 중심으로 구성된 대전환준비위는 지난 15일 출범 이후 쉴 틈 없는 일정을 소화했다. 조직별 업무 보고를 시작으로 ▲해상풍력 융복합산업화 플랫폼 ▲수산식품 수출단지 ▲친환경선박 산업 집적화 단지 조성 사업지 등 목포시의 주요 미래 성장동력 사업 현장을 직접 방문해 점검했다.

특히 준비위는 예산 운영의 효율성을 극대화하기 위해 선심성·과시성 사업은 과감히 구조조정하기로 했다. 대신 시민의 삶과 직결되는 민생안정사업과 목포의 미래 성장동력을 확보하기 위한 중장기 핵심사업을 균형 있게 추진하는 것을 민선 9기 재정 운영의 핵심 방침으로 삼았다.
