Danyang Tourism Organization Steps Up 'On-Site Promotion' Nationwide

Visiting Yongneup Wetland in Inje, Gangwon Province, to Launch Promotion Campaign Combined with Ecological Benchmarking

All-out Effort to Promote Danyang as the 'No. 1 Inland Tourism Destination' Through Distribution of Promotional Materials to Citizens and Marketing at Highway Rest Areas

Employees of the Danyang Tourism Organization have embarked on a hands-on promotional campaign, personally heading out to various locations across the country to share Danyang's tourism appeal.

The Danyang Tourism Organization announced that on the 17th, President Lee Kwan-pyo and other executives visited Yongneup Wetland on Mt. Daam in Inje-gun, Gangwon Province, to conduct ecological benchmarking and carry out promotional activities for Danyang tourism.

Mt. Daam Yongneup Wetland, visited during this trip, is a representative eco-tourism district in South Korea, designated as a Ramsar Wetland City in 2018 and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2019. The organization's Tourism and Recreation Team and employees toured the site following a strict reservation system, taking the time to deeply explore the sustainable tourism direction that the 'Danyang UNESCO Global Geopark' should pursue in the future.

After completing their ecological tour, the employees immediately transformed into "Danyang Tourism Ambassadors" on-site. Wearing Danyang promotional sashes, they engaged in surprise street marketing by personally meeting visitors and distributing Danyang County tourism promotional materials and souvenirs.

An official from the Corporation described the atmosphere on-site, stating, "Many tourists we met were already familiar with Danyang, allowing us to reaffirm its reputation as the 'No. 1 Inland Tourist Destination.' In particular, citizens who had previously visited Danyang showed great interest, praising the county's pristine nature, which rivals Yongneup Wetland."

The employees' enthusiasm for promotion continued on the return journey. They continued their relay promotional activities by stopping at highway rest areas along the return route and meticulously displaying the Danyang tourism promotional materials they had prepared on display stands. Lee Kwan-pyo, President of the Danyang Tourism Corporation, said, “It was a very valuable experience to be able to promote the charms of Danyang while making direct eye contact with citizens on-site.” He added, “Starting with this activity, I will continue to do my best to revitalize Danyang tourism by traveling across the country with my staff as a ‘field-oriented CEO’ who is always on the move.”
