At ‘Nordic Tech Tour Korea 2026’ held yesterday (the 17th) at Lotte Tower in Jamsil, Seoul, domestic startup NUCODE (CEO Kwanhyeong Lee) formalized its entry into the global ecosystem with its BLE 6.0-based communication modules. This event, held in Korea for the first time in approximately three years, highlighted next-generation low-power wireless technology and the direction of IoT development.

The most notable point at the scene was the registration of NUCODE’s BLE 6.0 modules as official Nordic third-party modules. This signifies that these are not merely compatible products, but modules officially recognized and supported by Nordic within its supply chain and ecosystem. Notably, NUCODE is currently the only Korean company among those with registered BLE 6.0 third-party modules, and no Japanese companies are included yet.

This achievement is significant as a domestic startup has gained recognition for its technological competitiveness within an existing module supply chain structure dominated by global giants from China, Switzerland, and Taiwan. Industry observers evaluate that the company has moved beyond a simple product launch to become an ‘official player’ within the global semiconductor and IoT ecosystem.

The core of the BLE 6.0 technology introduced at the event is precise positioning based on ‘Channel Sounding.’ This technology estimates the distance and location between devices with much higher accuracy than the existing RSSI method, offering strong potential for use in fields such as smart keys, asset tracking, industrial safety, and indoor navigation.

In line with these technological trends, NUCODE showcased the ‘NU54,’ a long-range, low-power BLE 6.0 module, along with the ‘NU40 DK’ development kit, which allows for immediate development in a USB environment without a debugger. A key feature is the reduction of IoT product development complexity by implementing a structure that links development to mass production on a single platform through module-unit design.

The company also revealed a roadmap to integrate ultra-small on-device AI technology into its modules. This method performs sensor data processing and simple AI inference within the device rather than the cloud, drawing attention as a next-generation IoT technology for its ability to reduce latency and ensure security. NUCODE explained that its new products scheduled for release this year have a technical structure that closely aligns with this direction.

NUCODE previously disclosed its low-power IoT modules and the ‘NU-Works’ development environment at CES 2026, presenting an integrated structure that leads from development to mass production with a single module. This structure is designed to allow even non-developers to implement IoT prototypes relatively easily, and its utility has been proven in hackathons and educational settings.

Currently, NUCODE’s technology is being applied across various fields, including safety systems for construction sites, vital-sign monitoring in hospitals, smart-city sensors, and security equipment, with some projects receiving recognition at public and global exhibitions.

CEO Kwanhyeong Lee stated, “This official third-party registration with Nordic means more than a simple certification; it signifies that we have secured technological trust in the global market. We will grow into a core infrastructure company connecting devices and communication in the era of Physical AI.”

He added, “We also completed the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) certification this February, securing the foundation for entry into the Japanese market. With this as a catalyst, we plan to pursue the expansion of our global supply chain as well as the full-scale supply of modules to the Japanese market.”

Meanwhile, ‘Nordic Tech Tour Korea 2026’ served as a venue to share expansion strategies for the IoT ecosystem and next-generation low-power wireless technologies, including BLE 6.0, drawing significant interest from domestic and foreign developers and corporate officials.
