Lotte Fine Chem Q1 net income up 57.4 pct to 44.7 bln won

SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) -- Lotte Fine Chem on Tuesday reported its first-quarter net profit of 44.7 billion won (US$30.3 million), up 57.4 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted a 32.7 billion-won operating profit for the quarter, compared with 18.8 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 14.6 percent to 510.7 billion won.

The operating profit was 20 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The estimate of its net profit was not available.
