ROAD VENTURE RT earns Winner in Product Design for 2026

Kumho Tire announced on April 30 that it has won the Winner prize in the Product Design category at the ‘2026 Red Dot Design Award’.
The Red Dot Design Award is a world-renowned design competition hosted by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany. It is considered one of the world’s top three design awards, along with Germany’s ‘iF Design Award’ and the U.S. ‘IDEA’, and annually selects and awards outstanding designs in three categories: Product Design, Brand & Communication, and Design Concept.
This year, Kumho Tire received the Winner prize in the Product Design category for its on/off-road tire, the ‘ROAD VENTURE RT’. This award marks the seventh consecutive year that Kumho Tire has won at the Red Dot Design Awards, starting from 2020.
The winning product, ‘ROAD VENTURE RT’, is an on/off-road tire that delivers excellent performance even on rough off-road terrains like rocky and muddy paths. To improve the durability and wear performance of the tread pattern, a robust Tie-Bar design was applied, and a ‘Stone Ejector’ design, inspired by the shape of cracked earth and rocks, was incorporated at the bottom of the grooves to maximize the off-road feel.
Additionally, the upper sidewall features a gear-shaped protective block (side biter) design, which embodies the product’s tough image while minimizing the possibility of tire damage from external impacts and enhancing driving stability.

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire has also achieved successive wins at major design awards this year, including Germany’s ‘iF Design Award’ and the ‘German Design Award’.
