SEOUL, May 7 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean baseball league announced Thursday it has topped 3 million fans at its fastest ever pace.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said its attendance for the 2026 season reached 3,062,085 through 166 games, with the four games played Thursday drawing a combined 78,776 fans.
The previous record was 175 games it took to get to 3 million fans in 2025. The KBO established a new single-season record that season with over 12.3 million fans and it is now on pace to break that mark this year.
Earlier this season, the KBO also cleared the 1 million and the 2 million milestones in record pace, too.
The league is averaging 18,446 fans per game so far this season.
With one more sellout Thursday, the KBO has seen 98 out of 166 games played at full stadiums. The league enjoyed a record 331 sellouts in 2025.
