[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 합천군이 문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사가 주관하는 ‘2026년 관광교통 촉진 지역 공모사업’에 최종 선정돼 총사업비 8억원을 확보했다고 27일 밝혔다.

관광교통 촉진 지역 공모사업은 대중교통 접근성은 취약하나, 관광 잠재력이 우수한 지역을 대상으로 지역 특성에 맞는 관광교통 체계 도입을 지원하는 사업으로, 올해는 전국에서 합천군, 의성군, 김천시, 군위군 4곳이 최종 선정됐다.

이번 사업의 핵심은 합천과 인근 광역 거점을 잇는 교통 연계망 구축이다. 그동안 합천은 대중교통 접근성의 한계로 자가용 없이는 방문이 불편한 지역으로 꼽혔으나, 광역 교통 연계가 실현되면 대구·경북은 물론 수도권·충청권 관광객의 접근성도 크게 향상될 전망이다.
