이번 공모전은 전남과 광주의 교육 통합을 기념하고, 특별시민이 직접 교육청의 상징을 만들어간다는 취지에서 기획되었으며 오는 8월 19일까지 진행된다.
특히 이번 공모전은 전문가 중심의 일방향적 심사에서 벗어나 ‘시민과 함께 만들어가는 우리의 CI’라는 핵심 가치를 실현한다. 교육청은 향후 CI 선정 과정에서 활약할 ‘심사위원단’과 ‘자문위원단’을 공개 모집할 계획이다.
또한, 최종 심사 단계에서는 ‘특별시민 대상 온라인 투표’를 도입하여, 전남광주통합특별시민의 소중한 의견이 교육청의 공식 얼굴을 결정하는 데 직접 반영되도록 했다.
