【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북대학교는 급변하는 인공지능 시대에 대응하고 미래 산업을 이끌 AI 인재를 체계적으로 양성하기 위해 기존 부속시설인 충북SW융합교육원을 총장 직속 기구인 인공지능융합혁신원으로 확대 및 개편한다. 이번 조직 개편은 교육부의 정책에 발맞춰 대학 내 AI 컨트롤타워를 구축하고 대학 전반의 AI 교육체계를 혁신하기 위해 추진됐다. 충북대학교는 이를 통해 전 학부생의 AI 기초역량을 강화하는 것은 물론, 전공과 AI를 융합한 융합인재와 전문인재를 체계적으로 육성할 계획이다.
새롭게 출범하는 인공지능융합혁신원은 대학 차원의 AI 정책을 총괄하고 통합적인 의사결정을 수행할 수 있도록 원장을 부총장급 이상으로 임명해 조직의 위상과 권한을 대폭 강화했다. 이를 통해 대학의 AI 정책 방향을 수립하고 교육, 연구, 산학협력을 아우르는 체계적인 거버넌스를 구축할 예정이다. 조직은 주요 정책을 심의하고 결정하는 혁신위원회를 중심으로 6개 전문센터와 행정지원실로 꾸려진다.
