【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북대학교가 양자와 인공지능(AI)을 결합한 첨단 융합 연구를 바탕으로 미래 기술을 선도하고 AI 교육·연구 혁신을 이끌어갈 ‘퀀텀-AI컴퓨팅센터’를 본격 개소했다.
충북대학교에서 열린 개소식 행사에는 대학 주요 관계자와 한국과학기술정보연구원, 국가보안기술연구소 암호연구센터 실장 등 유관 기관 인사들이 참석해 양자·AI 기반 연구 혁신 및 산학연 협력 확대를 위한 미래 비전을 함께 공유했다.
새롭게 문을 연 퀀텀-AI컴퓨팅센터는 양자기술과 AI를 접목하는 교육·연구 거점으로서 AI 클라우드 기반 연구 환경을 조성하고, 융합 연구 활성화와 미래 핵심 인재 양성, 산학협력 확대를 단계적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다. 아울러 지역 산업체 및 연구기관과의 긴밀한 협조를 통해 지역 디지털 혁신과 첨단산업 생태계 조성에도 중추적인 역할을 담당하게 된다.
특히 충북대학교는 이번 개소식과 함께 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)과 업무협약을 체결하고, 퀀텀 AI 및 AI·데이터 분야 공동연구, 전문인력 교류, 연구 인프라 공동 활용 등 다각적인 학술 협력을 지속적으로 확대해 나가기로 뜻을 모았다.
충북대학교 관계자는 퀀텀-AI컴퓨팅센터가 양자와 AI를 융합한 미래기술 혁신의 거점이자 충북대학교가 AI 거점대학으로 도약하기 위한 핵심 출발점이라며, 앞으로도 교육과 연구, 산학협력을 꾸준히 확대해 지역과 국가의 미래 경쟁력을 이끄는 첨단 연구 거점으로 발전시켜 나가겠다고 강조했다.
