【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=진천군새마을회가 28일 진천 화랑관에서 회원과 주요 내빈 등 350여 명이 참석한 가운데 '새마을운동 제창 56주년 새마을의 날 기념식'을 성황리에 개최했다.
이번 기념식은 새마을운동 유공자에 대한 표창 수여를 시작으로 기념사와 축사, 장학금 기탁식, 새마을노래 제창 등의 순서로 다채롭게 이어졌다. 행사장에서는 근면·자조·협동이라는 새마을정신을 현장에서 실천하며 지역 사회 발전에 크게 이바지한 유공자들을 격려하는 뜻깊은 시상이 진행됐다.
수상 내역을 살펴보면 백곡면 최광도와 직장·공장새마을운동진천군협의회 이상복이 중앙회장 표창을 받았으며, 광혜원면 최수현과 초평면 박금숙이 충북도지사 표창을 받았다. 이월면 한정서와 우석대학교 최준우 학생에게는 충청북도새마을회장 표창이 수여됐다. 더불어 진천군수 표창 9명, 진천군의회 의장 표창 7명, 국회의원 표창 2명, 진천군새마을회장 및 산하 단체장 표창 9명 등 지역 곳곳에서 헌신해 온 이들이 상을 받았다.
특히 진천군새마을회는 이날 지역 인재 양성과 교육 환경 개선에 힘을 더하기 위해 재단법인 진천군장학회에 장학금 100만 원을 전달하며 나눔의 의미를 더했다.
