진천군은 생애주기별 맞춤형 의료 서비스와 지역 밀착형 생명 안전망을 연계해 군민 누구나 지역 내에서 안심하고 치료받을 수 있는 건강 도시 체계를 구축하고 있다고 밝혔다.
가장 눈에 띄는 대목은 24시간 필수 의료망 구축이다. 진천군의 24시간 응급의료기관인 중앙제일병원이 충북도 내 군 단위 최초로 지역 응급 의료 센터로 승격되면서 중증 응급환자 대응력이 획기적으로 개선됐다. 전문의 및 의료 장비 확충으로 야간과 휴일에도 신속한 처치가 가능해지며 지역 내 골든타임 확보가 가능해졌다.
